Is Your Child Struggling?
Does your child have difficulty adjusting to early learning environments? Are transitions between activities, people, or places a source of stress and anxiety for them? If your child finds it hard to manage emotions or behaviors such as anger, frustration, or biting, you are not alone.
At Thrive, we offer support tailored specifically to help children develop the skills they need to navigate these challenges.

What to expect?
Typically, the process starts with an initial meeting between you and the professional before your child's first visit. Following that, both the child and parents participate in a session to discuss the reasons for therapy and review the child’s developmental history.

As your child becomes comfortable, they will usually engage in one-on-one play and interaction with the psychologist. At the end of each session, there will be a review, and parents or guardians will receive progress notes via email. The therapeutic approach may vary based on your child’s individual needs, challenges, and family circumstances. Our psychologists are trained in a variety of methods, including play therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and other interactive techniques to help children heal, learn, and reflect on their experiences.

With parental consent, the professional may contact your child’s school, preschool, or other service providers to discuss their needs. Additionally, school or early learning centre visits can be arranged upon request. No communication with external agencies will occur without parental permission.
Sessions typically last between 30 to 60 minutes.
